As the 2010 season winds down, I would like to take a few minutes to write to the players, parents, coaches, umpires and the many volunteers of Oakville Little League. I would like to thank the players for your commitment to the league and for being a part of what I think is a wonderful organization full of people who always strive to make all of you better athletes and all around individuals. I also want to thank the hundreds of coaches that have stepped up to coach you the players throughout the season. A big thanks also goes out to our umpires who have tough jobs but maintain thier professionalism and give 100% to the game when on the diamonds. We also can't forget about our hundreds of volunteers who put in many hours thorughout the year to make sure the league runs smoothly and that the experience of all of our youth players is nothing but the best. Lastly, I want to thank my Board of Directors for being part of the league and contributing to the success of the league. The recipe to success is working as a team and we have made tremendous progress over the years at putting together a program that provides the youth a positive experience throughout the summer.

2010 has been an extremely busy year with the normal operations of the house league program and all of the playdown tournaments and championship weekends. In addition, we were busy with preperations for the 2010 Senior Provincial Championship, assisting Ancaster in hosting the 2010 Major Canadians and running the 2010 Adam Fedoruk CANAM tournament which is a very important tournament to our league. While most of you will end the baseball season and move on to other winter sport activities, the board of directors will take a short break and get back at it in Mid-September with the start of the 2011 planning.

The league is in need of more volunteers to take on very small roles within the league which does not require a lot of time and commitment. If you have an interest in getting involved even if it is in a small way, please give me a call and I will be happy to review all of the small jobs that need to be done to determine where you may be able to lend your support. We will be at the fieldhouse throughout the fall and winter so please do not hesitate to drop me a line or just drop in and say hello.
