The “Road to the Little League World Series” in Williamsport, Pa. is a long one and it starts right here in our own backyard. Each year, for seven days in July, teams from Little League Ontario District 1 begin the journey with the District 1 Major Championship.

This year for the first time, the District 1 Major Championship will be a round-robin tournament where games are hosted daily at one of the six local Little Leagues that make up District 1.

The teams will play five round robin games with the top four teams moving on to the semi-finals.  The semi-final winners will move on to the Championship game on July 23rd at 7:00pm, hosted by Ernidale Lions Little League at Springfield Park in Mississauga.

The District 1 Champions will move on to the Little League Ontario Championships in Pembroke, Ontario hosted by Pembroke and Petawawa Little League. The Little League Ontario Champion will continue on to the Canadian Little League Championship in Val D'Or, Quebec with the winner going on to the Little League World Series.
